Yellowjacket Golfers to Wrap up Season in Colorado (Apr. 25, 2004)

BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State-Billings men’s golf team will conclude its second season of NCAA competition on Monday at the University of Northern Colorado Invitational in Greeley, Colo.  Play, originally scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, will take place on Monday only.  The 6,723-yard par-71 Highland Hills Golf Course will host both of Monday’s rounds with the first tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m.

The event will be the sixth of the spring for the Yellowjackets.  The MSU Billings women’s team finished its season last week at the Nebraska-Kearney Invitational.  The men’s team placed thirteenth in Nebraska, led by 23rd place finishes by Chris Haas and Eric Staab.  Haas, a sophomore from Bozeman, Mont., has been the Jackets’ low scorer in the last three tournaments.

The UNC Invitational will feature eight teams.  Joining the Yellowjackets and the host Bears will be Adams State, Colorado Christian, Colorado School of Mines, Forth Hays State, Nebraska-Kearney and Regis.  Nebraska-Kearney and Regis are ranked No. 9 and No. 10 respectively in the Northwest Region.
