MSU Billings Schedules Billings Bees Basketball Clinics (October 11, 2002)

BILLINGS, MT – The MSU Billings basketball programs have scheduled their twelfth annual Billings Bees Basketball Clinics for students in grades K-8.  The clinics will begin Saturday, October 19 and run for four Saturdays in a row.

Sponsored by the Billings Gazette, the Billings Bees program is an opportunity for boys and girls in grades K-8 to become involved in basketball at a young age.  The clinics are designed to allow kids to develop skills and gain a better understanding of the sport.

Head men’s coach Craig Carse (8^th year) and assistant Brent Montague (7^th year) will be conducting the boys’ clinic.  Assisting Carse and Montague will be the members of the 2002-2003 Yellowjackets.

Head women’s coach Karyn Ridgeway (3^rd year) will be running the girls’ camp along with first year assistant Darryl Helmer.  The Lady Yellowjackets will also have players working at the clinics.

Both the boys’ and girls’ clinics will emphasize technical skills including shooting, ball handling, rebounding, passing, and defensive skills.  The clinics will also feature an assortment of competitive games.

The cost of the clinics is $30 per child.  The cost covers all four sessions, a Billings Bees t-shirt, a basketball, and a discount for family season passes to Yellowjacket home basketball games.

The clinics will take place on October 19, October 26, November 2, and November 9.  Boys’ sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  Girls’ session will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon.  For more information, contact Yellowjacket Athletics at 406-657-2369.
